Outpatient Ultrasound

Protocol:

• All outpatient ultrasounds must be requested by the referring veterinarian. VOSC will then contact the owner within one business day to schedule an appointment.

• Outpatient ultrasounds are performed by an Internal Medicine Specialist

• It is the responsibility of the referring veterinarian to communicate the ultrasound findings to the client; results are not discussed with the client directly unless an emergency condition is diagnosed.

• VOSC will send the radiology report via email to the address listed on the outpatient ultrasound referral form same day.

• We do not accept unstable patients for an outpatient ultrasound.

• If you know that the patient will require sedation, please have the owner schedule an internal medicine appointment.

• Charges can be billed to the referring clinic or paid by the client (see form below).
